Said PNP’s Lindsey Hodgson, “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with these great sponsors. The road trip is a quintessential Canadian experience and our giveaway captures the adventurous, uplifting and heartfelt spirit of the country and the film CAS & DYLAN.”
Cas & Dylan is a comedic drama that stars Academy Award-winner Richard Dreyfuss (The Goodbye Girl, Jaws, Mr. Holland’s Opus, What About Bob?) opposite award-winning Canadian actress Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black, Picture Day). The film tells the story of 61-year-old self-proclaimed loner and terminally ill, Dr. Cas Pepper (Dreyfuss), who reluctantly agrees to give 22-year-old social misfit, Dylan Morgan (Maslany), a very short lift home. The last thing he anticipates is that he will strike her angry boyfriend with his car, find himself on the lam, and ultimately drive across the country with an aspiring young writer determined to help him overcome his own bizarre case of suicide note writer’s block. Suddenly Cas’ solo one-way trip out West isn’t so solo. With Dylan at his side, the two take off on an adventure that will open their eyes to some of life’s lessons – both big and small. Cas & Dylan is a story not only about death, but also about life, fate, inspiration, and self-determination. Not to mention, about the perils of offering lifts to strangers.
Cas & Dylan is written by Jessie Gabe (Mr. D, Being Erica) and directed by Jason Priestley. It is produced by Montefiore Films and Breakthough Entertainment. Mark Montefiore (Picnicface, Eating Buccaneers) produced the film, with Emily Alden of Pacific Northwest Pictures, Marina Cordoni, Steven Denure, Ira Levy, Bill Marks, and Peter Williamson serving as executive producers.
PNP’s “Great Canadian Road Trip” contest is open to all Canadian residents (excluding Quebec, Nunavut, Yukon and N.W.T.), with winners of the Grand Prize required to be of legal age in their home province . The contest opened for entries on April 3rd and will officially close on April 30.
